Councillor donates half a million naira to his community.

The Councillor representing Ward 4 B of Umukwata in Ukwuani local government area of Delta State Hon Achugbue Ernest yesterday donated the sum of five hundred thousand (#500,000) to Owah-Abbi Community for infrastructural development.The donation was publicly presented by the legislator at the Palace of the Okpala-uku of Owah-Abbi with both the Okpala-uku and the Onotu-uku in councils in full attendance.In Presenting the aforementioned money,Hon Ernest illustrated that the untold hardship presently facing the people of Owah-Abbi since the collapse of the Bridge that links the people and their farms have to be tackled with utmost urgency.

He further stressed that the donation is targeted towards the construction of a brand-new Bridge for the people of Owah-Abbi and its neighbouring villages who ply the bridge for their daily livelihood.In response to the laudable and enviable effort of Hon Ernest,the speaker of the community expressed great joy and praise that this donation is the first of its kind in the history of Owah-Abbi community.He thanked Hon Ernest for recognizing the fact  that the collapse of the Bridge has crippled economic activities as the people are predominantly farmers.

The speaker equally availed himself the opportunity to call on all well-meaning Owah-Abbi sons and daughters both home and in diaspora to emulate the philanthropic gesture of Hon Ernest by donating generously to achieve the construction of a new Bridge.The community swung into action by dispatching the money donated to the hired site Engineer to commence the construction with immediate  effect.Hon Ernest was accompanied by Ward 4 Chairman Engr Anthony Okoye, the LGA Youth leader Cmr chukunalu Joseph and other PDP faithful from the Ward.
