It was a gathering for re-affirmation of support for the People's Democratic Party,PDP,yesterday 12.09.17 at Ibusa, the country home of the Senator representing Delta North in the red Chamber of National Assembly,Barrister Peter Nwaoboshi when working committee of the Nine local government areas of the zone converged in his residence.Addressing the working committee (LGA Chairmen of PDP,Secretaries, treasurers,Woman and youth leaders),the convener,Sen. Nwaoboshi said he was delighted to call for the gathering to congratulate the executive of the party in the nine local government for their victorious emergence at the congress of the party held in 2016 and to also commend them for the manner they have composed their selves since their emergence having been monitoring the political happenings in the state as a politician who is not alien to the political terrain of delta state.

According to the former state chairman of PDP and current senator representing delta north,it was wise to identify with the leadership of his party within the nine local government to impact in them, his Wealth of experiences as one whose sojourn into politics began from the grassroot as ward chairman before rising to become a senator. In his admonition,Nwaoboshi entreated the chairmen to imbibe the spirit of tolerance as they were the eyes and representatives of the party in their various areas as he said that was the only way they could win more people into the party. While encouraging them not to dwell on distraction that may arise from their accusers,he drew their attention to his experiences as state chairman, the Oracle as he is often address, reminded them of how he was ceaselessly blackmailed in the course of carrying out his duties for the PDP and pleaded with them to learn from that and the manner he handled the tough times against what the enemy forces expected. For Nwaoboshi,it was a critical period for the PDP but the attitude and behaviours of the chairmen were capable of either creating more challenges for the party or make winning easier for it.He urged them to tow the latter path if convincing victory must be achieved.

"...... don't fear because we will win every election for our great party. If we did it for Chief James Onanefe Ibori and Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, we can do it well enough for our leader and brother, His Excellency Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa. All that is required of us is extra effort especially toward the forthcoming local government election which will be a test run for 2019 general election. Though it may not be easy but with God on our side and by our collective effort we will come out victorious. Be reminded that antecedents would be the basic tool to becoming the candidate of our party and winning elections and that we have and willing to take to campaign field" he said.
Barrister Nwaoboshi while reiterating his support for local government executive of the party, said as a man who grew up in politics, in his recent empowerment program he made it emphatically clear that he would be allocating certain resources annually to stomach infrastructure as a representative of the people whose duty it's to help alleviate the sufferings of his constituents. He also pleaded with the chairmen to be transparent and shun favoritism in the selection of 8 names (four ladies and four men) from each of the 97 wards in Delta north for another round of empowerment that will be launched soon. He enjoined them to count him part of them and also assured them of his resolve to continually give them the necessary support to succeed.

While emphasising on the rumour making rounds on social media about the relationship between Gov. Okowa and Chief Ibori, which he said was the handiwork of falsehood peddlers who claimed both leaders were at loggerhead with each other over the dissolution of the State Independent Electoral Commission, Senator Nwaoboshi exonerated the Governor from the mischievous claim, noting that it was a decision of the leaders and stakeholders to remove the appointed officers having lost confidence in the chairman and urged the public to disregard the purported soured relationship between the two friends - Okowa and Ibori.

Responding to the address of the senator, the leader of forum of local government chairmen of People's Democratic Party in Delta State who doubles as Ika North East Chairman of the party,Chief Godwin Ogadi applauded Barrister Nwaoboshi for his unflinching support for Gov.Okowa led administration,PDP and the forum and further said the orator would remain a reference personality in their daily political discussion due to his wealth of experience which he said he benefitted from having worked with him in the last dispensation when he was the state leader of the party in the state before becoming elected senator.According to Chief Ogadi, capacity and contacts have undoubtedly remained the basis of politics and as such pleaded with Nwaoboshi to call for such gathering regularly for the forum to always tap from the ocean of experience that he is blessed with.He assured him of the forum's continous support for him and Okowa's administration.Thereafter,a motion for a vote of confidence on His Excellency, Gov. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa,Sen. Nwaoboshi and Delta North PDP Chairman,Hon. Iduh whom the working committee described as an exceptional leader, dispassionate about the welfare of the party, which was unanimously passed by the local government areas working committee, was moved by Chief Ugo Ashibelua,Ndokwa East LGA Chairman of PDP and seconded by Ogbueshi Dada Okonji,Oshimili South PDP Chairman.
